Is anyone interested in getting together to write a Saab simulator? This isn't the sort that you'd see at the 'indoor NASCAR' places, but sort of a test rig for testing out customized ECU programming.
I saw a post some time back from someone who had all of the code and data dumped from their TCS/LH2.4 controlers. I think it'd be mighty handy to have something other than a real car to test them out in. Hence, maybe we should get together and write a simulator that we can 'plug' the new ecu code into and try it out.
The microcontrollers inside the ECUs are all relatively simple (up through T5, at least), and I think well enough within our reach of comprehension.
It's also about time, I think, that we get to really digging into the electronic systems, understanding them, and learn to fix them when they break, becasue the electronics aren't going away. The alternative, which has been practiced so far, is to simply bellyache about the 'fiddly electronic bits'.
