Has anyone moved or mounted a 2nd battery in the trunk?

I'm thinking of adding a second battery, and mounting it in the trunk. Has anyone done this? Any recommendations on how/where to run the (+) wire? What gauge of wire would you recommend? Is it OK just to connect the (-) wire to the body/frame, or does that seem to be ineffective?
The reason is that I'll be installing some additional electrics, a micro-ATX board PC (Pentium-III) with a 7" LCD touch panel. The intention is to load Map software and the contents of the local phone directory, as well as some custom apps I've written for logging miles and handling business contatcs, etc...
I'm concerned that there just won't be enough amps in the system to run everything unless there's some extra 'reserve' somewhere (i.e. in the battery). I'm also thinking the extra battery can help smooth out power fluctuations, which would be advantageous to the operation of the computer.
Thoughts?
