I have a '94 9K Aero and I am going to switch to the 9-5 Aero maybe a wagon in the future. The interiors are flat out different in my mind, but both satisfy me with their differnces, although the 9-5 might be slightly more to my taste with the modern touches. Having also owned a '86 900 turbo the 9-5 is still enough Saab for me to concider buying one. My parents used to own a tinted 9-5 Aero wagon with the 17" BBS wheels so I got to drive it a bunch of times. The 9-5 starts to bring the looks more into a category with BMW and Audi so that draws me to it when considering a new car. The power was as robust as the 9K, but it came on differently. It came on more smoothly and slightly quicker then my 9k with a JT 3" full exhaust, (I think the 9-5 have a slightly smaller turbo). The power also seemed to stay pretty much the same once it was on so it ended up feeling like a big engine instead of a turbo engine. My 9K is pretty tame till 2k rpms where the beast is unleashed and charges angrily till redline. You don't get that, "I got you buy the balls and threw you down the road," feeling. It is more like, "Just sit back and I am going to go really fast while you put your feet up sir. No worries." It also has a tad bit better handling then the 9k, but I have heard that attributed more then once to the extra ridgity of the wagon so I can't comment about the sedan. The handling difference seemed to be due to the wheel size because as soon as I put 17"s on my 9k it felt similar to the 9-5. That is what has been running through my head so maybe some of it can help you.
