This whole deal is really heinous. Someday in the not too distant future when I'm tempted to admire other folks driving their SAABs, I'll remember this one. After all this expense, I'll have to keep the car for a while, but I'm counting the days. If you can accept such unreasonable repair expenses, there are more interesting cars to drive (anyone for Italian tonight?). My first two 9000s went 150,000 miles. with not much more than the normal semi-annual slave cylinder and heater core failures. "If they fix that, I'll be happy," I said. Now, three years into owning a '95, I haven't replaced those items, but damn near everything else that's greasy and costly!
My 9000 went into the shop for no speedo today. The situation just got more perplexing. On the way to East of Sweden in Boulder, my previous shift linkage woes vanished and I had normal access to all five gears. Something's up besides the speedometer gear, I fear..
