Used/junkyard 1998 Aero alternator, ok to use? Or not?

Hey guys,
Planning on swapping in a 9000 alternator in my 900 SPG, s it is in need of a replacement anyway, there is no modifications required to mate the 9000 unit to my 900, just wanted to talk to some 9K people before I go ahead and install a used 1998 aero alternator from a local dismantler.
The car was hit, alternator and engine untouched. I can get the alternator for like $40 versus $200 for a rebuilt (which I really don't have right now).
Do you think it will be ok to use this used alternator, or is this just a bad idea from your experiences with the longevity of this alternator? Just asking because most of you on this board have direct experience with this 115 amp alternator that came stock in your 9000's.
I'd love to hear your opinions before I blow $40, but more importantly, the time and pain in the butt to install it.
Thanks for your time!
Taylor
