Often an hour isn't really enough time for the cobwebs to clear, but then it's possible the sensor is faulty and causes immediate error codes. I'll be sending you a cannibalized replacement to try.
The purpose of this sensor (I would deduce but don't know this) would be to sense the temperature, and therefore density, of air in the intake. This should help the engine preempt knock via boost regulation, possibly fuel delivery, etc. However, the MAP sensor does much the same thing and is probably the more critical element in the chain. If this pair isn't cooperating fully, I'd expect to see either reduced boost or knocking. But are these things noticeable? If not I seriously doubt there's any point in fretting over it.
