I currently have a 1993 9000 CDE with about 139,000 miles on it. I've replaced almost all of the big parts on this car and to me it's running great with a few small problems. In the past couple months I've come to the point where I just hate the automatic tranny on it, I really can't stand it.

What I want to do is dump the auto tranny and put a short shift (normal throw would be alright too) 6 speed tranny in there. Is this even possible, I'd be willing to put a decent amount of money in there to do this project.

My next questions deal with all of the broken parts on the car.

Door: The front drivers side door has started to close really hard. It catches on the plate, but I really need to slam it to get it to do it. I checked the gaps in the door, nothing seems out of place but I still can't get it to latch like the rest of the doors. They all close with that nice firm feeling. This one feels like it's hitting something while closing.

Rear pillars: The padding has come off the real pillars. I put some felt on there a year ago and it's just not looking as good as I want it to. Where can I find some good condition panals to replace the ones that I have hopelessly screwed up now.

Car Alarm & Remote open: I want to put a remote doors and remote windows (so I can close the roof automagically at night. What kind of systems have people put on their cars to do this?

Wooden Trim: I have wooden trim on the car currently and parts of it are starting to crack and break off. Ontop of that I'm doing some dash work on the car (mounting a screen for NAV) and the dash I got has nothing. Where can I find trim to match what I currently have. I don't want to replace all the trim, so a good match would be nice.

Wheels: After parking in Boston for about 5 years the rims on my car are seriously chewed up. I'd also like to mount some larger (think low profile 17's) on the car to improve the look of it. What I was thinking is use the old rims as snow rims and then mount some ultra performance summer tires on the rest of the car. What are the thoughts about this? I want to keep a semi stock look, so where can I find large saab wheels?

Suspension: I've read alot on here regarding the suspension on these cars and the possible upgrades to do to it. What would be the easiest way to stiffen up the ride without changing too many dynamics of the car. Something I can also put in myself without blowing a budget.

I think those are all of my questions, hopefully somebody will have some good ideas. (Especially about the tranny).

Thanks!

BEN
