I don't know what year car you have, but the standard mounting position for the factory CD changer was upright on the left hand side of the trunk, right behind the tail lights. There was a bracket provided in the factory kit to mount the changer upright. On some models there was a cable already installed, tucked behind the carpet on the wheel well. Try looking there. Otherwise, check with Clarion to see if they made longer cables.
