I have a 2001 Viggen. When I went to the Viggen flight academy in GA. about three years ago, there was station in Brazelton that sold 103 Octane racing fuel (Road Atlanta was just down the road from the station about three miles). There was a notable difference. The engine could not be heard at idle, but it is also VERY quiet normally. The trip home up I-81 was a constant effort to keep the car at an acceptable highway speed. By the way, you can't regulate the use of fuel types. I have never heard of any law that was on the books that applied in ANY state. This may be the dealers way of controlling the distribution of what is probably in limited supply for him. So the message is........GO fill up and enjoy!
