Hello everyone,

Ok, I'm sure most of you are familiar with the specs and mods on my car, let's just say it's not a stock engine anymore...

..however i am still utilizing the stock APC system... and this is the condition i am having.

I get about 1 bar or 1.1 bar most of the time between 14-16 psi under MAX boost... This is "okay", but i am just certain the car should have more than that with the things that have been done to it.

There are literally no air/vac leaks, plugs are new, oil is new, engine new! :)

turbo is NOT new, BUT has been checked out and wastegate recently adjusted.

the ECU has an upgraded MAPTUN chip, and of course the matching chip is in the DI/APC box.

supposedly these chips raise the base boost, but i'm not sure if the wastegate is adjusted to accomodate the change in the programming...


...anyways, with all of my cars systems recently inspected, and deemed in excellent working health, i decided to unplug the "w" hose from the BPC solenoid... just to see if the MAX psi of the turbo was being achieved by the APC system...


...NOT to my surprise, it wasn't... and i boosted up into the 20-21 psi range with the w hose unplugged...

I recently tried to clean the BPC with some methods approved on this board, but maybe that's still the cause of the "low" boost condition?

Does something have to be electronically "reset" in order to reach higher boost levels all the time?

If this is just "the way it is" with the APC system, should i consider changing over to a MANUAL boost pressure controller system? how does that work?

what can i do to get more boost out of my apc system now?

what's going on gosh darn it! :)
