Ok, if anyone knows about my issues with base boost, here's a little more. For everyone else, it's a 97 CSE auto that has been stuck in base boost or pretty close as long as I've had it. I haven't been able to get the turbo gauge up into the top of the yellow since I've owned it. I did reset my computer by unplugging it for a few minutes when I replaced my 02 sensor due to a CEL coming on. That was last weekend. Anyhow...
Today I disconnected the "W" hose from the BPC, and although the boost gauge will now get in the upper yellow, it has trouble getting there and I still here a shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sound from the bottom of the yellow as it builds. Any ideas where my pressure is going?
I tried to suck on the "W" hose to see if the pressure relief valve would open, and nothing. I tried to blow on the "W" hose to see if the rod at the other end would move, and nothing. Anyone think that pressure relief valve (not sure of the official name) on the turbo is stuck? How much sucking or blowing would it take to move that arm? I can't check it today but figured I'd ask the question.
Thanks in advance.
Tom
