Hi Folks.
Here I am again, having driven (please don't throw rotten veggies at me !)
an ancient, rusty Prelude all summer just for the a/c, while my lovely
'88 9KT (Carlsson ?) sat in the garage...and I want to have only one car
again, and I want that car to be a Saab - with working a/c (and FPT..)!
So, here's what I am considering:
Perhaps a CSE from after '93 - but....
I have found that there are very few '94+ CSE's for sale, none right now
that I have found with 5SP trannies anyhow.
Or a similar vintage CS, then I would do the FPT upgrade.
I have found a few, and they are reasonable, but then....
I found a couple of '94 Aeros.....gulp !!
My '93 Aero was a nightmare, and I miss driving it, but NOT trying to fix
it in $1000+ chunks with parts that only fit that one model/year.
Folks here are WAY smarter and more experienced than I am when it comes
to these things, so please share your thoughts with me:
I have found a really pretty, nearly perfect '94 Aero with 159k,
5 sp tranny, non-smoker's car. good a/c and no serious defects.
It could be mine for around $4300.
Is this a year that will be a nightmare to get parts for like my
'93 was ?
Are there other good reasons to avoid this model/year ?
Is the Aero, by it's nature more trouble than maybe a '95
CSE ?
I have very little time to mull this over, and seriously, all you folks
here are my most trusted resource for this kind of situation.
Thanks !
mark
