Hi Again Gavin.
Do you live here in Vermont (I am in Wolcott.) ?
Like you, my Saab experience began a long while ago - before the 900S
I had the 99 models.
Previous to those I was a complete VW head; and after the last 99 I
needed a commuter car, and drove several Camrys for about 10 years.
I always missed the Saabs very much !
Finally I got into a nice 900S, then got into several 9KTs, then
the '93 Aero.
I have preferred the Saabs over all else since my first.
All people I have known with Swedish cars that had any accident
have always had similar stories afterward - severe accidents as
well as minor - no injuries - a great selling point !!!
As far as the future is concerned - I would not even imagine
the idea of performance mods to an Aero - it is purr-fect as
it was built, easily the most perfect car I have ever known.
I have checked, and it looks like the '94 I want doesn't have
the nasty TCS, or I would totally avoid it - the '93 had that
as one of it's nightmares....
Dunno what specific FI it has, but that has never been an
issue in any other 9KTs before, for me.
Post '96 is too spendy for me right now - so unless I were to
find an inexpensive '96 CSE, '94 is about my cash limit.
I was looking into a nice '91 9KT, but the guy blew me off
for a local buyer - I really like the idea of a pre-TCS 2.3 !!
There, that's the rest of my story, in response to yours.
(I hope I didn't put you to sleep !!!)
Best Wishes,
mark
