stainless steel lines for me too! I got mine from Group 9, and they've been great. Can't say that I noticed a huge difference in braking response, but that's because I've been trying to sort out some ABS issues.

Anyway, I researched in the BB archives before I did the job, and there was no mention of any sort of thread compound. I didn't use any--honestly, it didn't even cross my mind. I was down at the front calipers recently for sway bar bushings and the reverse light, and no leakage. Still doing great--and the red lines look good with the painted calipers.

Good luck--I had to take the hard line out of the rears because the nuts were totally rusted and it was impossible to get leverage on both sides. Thank God for vicegrips!
