Nathan, if that price is for a nice clean car that seems in good
repair - I'd say have a Saab mech look it over - but otherwise
I'd take my own advice and BUY IT ! (I just bought one recently...)

There are a few things I would suggset and share:
TCS is available in that year as an option - and if, when you turn
the key to the 'ON' position without cranking, you see a TCS light,
DON'T BUY IT AT ALL !! It is a nightmare to have a car with TCS !

If the 1st owner was smart, and avoided the TCS, the next question
for me would be the tranny - I will only own a 5sp, and I have
heard many, many times that ATs are very expensive and problematic
with short longevity, but I have not owned any.

Apparently the '94 was the last year for the amazing, fantastic
absolutely BEST seats - and a good reason to get one too !

My previous experiences to contribute, hope they help:

I previously owned a '93 Aero 5sp WITH TCS - and the 1st $1000
part to go was the special, exclusive, no longer made TCS elect-
ronic throttle, and many more parts that ONLY fit a '93 Aero
were to follow - I finally traded it (even !) for a gorgeous,
lovely '88 9KT, which I drive almost every day - that 93 was
putting me in the poorhouse - I swore off those for good !

Previously also had a '92 9KT with TCS - it had most of the
same problematic parts the '93 had, but I didn't keep it long
enough for the financial nightmare to begin - the next guy
had a 2nd job JUST to keep it running though !

The '94 Aero I got is absolutely a delight to look at, sit
in, and drive, I highly recommend that specific car.

Maintenance-wise though, I would say that all (real, not GMC)
Saabs are likely to need regular fondling - but that's one
of the things we love about them, and they deserve the
attentions in exchange for the best ride one can get !
(You can easily tell I am unbiased, right ??)

If you want a slightly less fiddly car, I would suggest
looking hard for a '91 9KT in really good condition, it
will have most of the good parts of the Aero, but alot less
in the way of expensive complications to repair like the
Aero would.

There's my 2 cents for you - hope it helps.
(Do feel free to email me if I may be able to answer
any questions for you !)

Best Wishes,

mark
