Our 93 CSEt has TCS and was trouble-free for 94K.... Posted by TonyJ [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: 94 Aero - TCS question, Daanimal900, Sat, 16 Oct 2004 23:32:34 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
miles, until (see my recent posts) the safety valve ($90) failed and, after i replaced it, the system had to be re-calibrated ($58 by Indy). At least it has a limp-home mode so you won't be stranded should it fail. You have to push down much further on the pedal and performance is limited to about mid-yellow on the boost gauge. Before we owned the car, the TCS pedal sensor (at 118K) and throttle body (at 128K) were replaced by Village Saab. Check the service records to see what was done on yours. Is it a 5-speed or auto? There are major differences; I think the auto version has a whole extra control box. '94 and earlier did not have TCS switches, but you can buy a kit from eeuroparts or Saabstory.
TCS is useful when one front wheel has poor traction, e.g. on an ice patch, puddle, or sand. When both wheels are on ice, you may be better off turning it off. Good luck.
