i disconnected the braided hose from the cm to slave and pumped the clutch to see what would come out, and got lots of little rubber pieces, which i imagine have made their way into my slave and done who knows what.

so, i'm going to replace both master to cm and slave to cm, and flush the system thoroughly, hopefully new master isn't failed, but i can bleed the clutch and get a nice clutch that works for a little while until resevoir is down, and usually i find fluid, so hopefully master is ok still...

thanks for reply, and yes, replacing all parts seems to be the saab mech way too, that's why i became DIY'er!
