Check this thread on timing chain guides. It sounds like you can replace the guide if you get the OEM type plastic guide versus the metal-rubber guide you will be removing.
Have you looked at the the inner driver cups to see if you could swap them in the housing. From the shop manual, it looks like there is a snap ring on the inside and perhaps a press involved to remove the driver from the housing. You should be able to do this without ruining the bearing, but you might need a new seal when you are done. Do the stub shafts that fit into the spider gears holders match up?
