Ari is right, it is a DIY, and I have done both. The easier one is to adjust at the rear wheels. I think you should tighten the allen (4mm?) until it gets tight and then back it off 1/4 turn rather than 1/2. I have found it's a nuisance to deal with the adjustment in the car at the handle end.
If you have to change the cable, you have to take out most of the center console to do it, and when you put the new cable in, make sure you first remove a retaining clip (I think it's white) that is used to secure the sheathing for the cable. Otherwise, you will not get the new cable fed through the hole in the floor.
As a Virginia alum, I am giving a Tarheel advise because you guys did such a nice job beating Miami the other day!!
