They probably forgot to remove the old sensor.
Your 94 9000 have the CKP sensor mounted on the front of engine near transmission bellhousing.
It changed location and style of operation between 93 and 94, just like it changed between 88-89 for some models when it went from being inside the ignition distributor to be mounted behing the crank shaft pulley.
On thing that I see over and over on this and the other models board are posters thinking that the cars stay the same for years and years, and from what they are used to see on their car they give advice to someone owing a completly different year.
That's why I sometimes ask for model/year/engine/trans before answering and I like when posters include that information in the original post.
Sometimes you even need the VIN to narrow down your answer.
