I recall you had a question last week on shifter linkage adjustment on your 94cs. The shift linkage is the new style one piece type. Don't know if you have the issue resolved or not. I was reading the SAAB manual for manual gearbox, section 4:1 lasr night and noticed there's a procedure to set the shifter.
Having taken out the drivetrain of two of my 94's a few times, both with the old style bolted on rubber linkage, I have never adjusted the shifter and never had to. This time I may have to do it for the 94cde in my auto to 5 speed conversion.
On the 5 speed transmission, there is a black rubber plug. (this is the rubber plug I have always mistaken for the transmission vent hole. I don't know why.) Put the transmission in 4th. Remove the rubber plug and insert a pin to lock it. The manaual calls for a SAAB special tool but I think a philips screw drive of correct size will do.
On the shifter, put it in fourth and insert a pin in the front of the shifter to also lock it in fourth.
With both the shifter and the transmission locked in fourth, align and shifter linkage and tighten. Then remove the pins. This will be the procedure I'll follow.
The manual also says to replace the rubber plug with a new one. I don't know why. I am not going to.
