if you are relying simpy on the oil light for that indication....the light goes on/off around 5-7psi! so seeing it go out still means substantially lower oil pressure than spec. picture this, a bone cold engine at 2000rpm or so -should- indicate around 50-65psi, depending on the condition of the bearings, pump, etc (and I guess depending weather or not it is a 2.0 or 2.3) A hot engine...quite a spot lower pressure than^^^ depending on oil viscosity and the above mention conditions,,,,but you get the idea. the light doesn't tell you good or bad oil pressure,,,it warns you that you have dangerously low oil pressure. typically it;s a warning to shut the engine down.
now you said you flushed engine??? if there was a large amount of sludge and you had a very effective flush that could clog the oil pick-up screen.
take Ari's advice and get it to a mechanic, at least to rule out a poor sender.
did you take apart the oil pumps as well??
