Hello there,
Ok... first of all...
Two two computers in your car are called the Bosch LH ECU, or Jetronic Box, (most people just call it the ECU for short) and this controls your fuel injection system,
and the other computer box is the DI/APC control box. Which controls the Direct ignition system and the turbo control systems.
both systems are sort of tied together and "talk" to each other a lot, so they kind of work together as one computer, kindof.
anyways...
i have the same control system in my 1990 9000 turbo, and i've got a complete exhaust system from turbo back, with a high flowing cat...
the car runs fine, better of course than it did with the stock system... so tell your mechanic that no adjustments will have to be made, the car will work fine with the complete exhaust system that you want.
Might i suggest going with a 2.5" exhaust system instead of a 3"?
2.5" will support up to 450 HP, and it sounds and operates very similar to the stock exhaust system.
that's what i have on my car.
but if you want the 3", go for it man! let me know where you get your high flowing cat from, and for how much... my friend with a 92 9kt is looing for a freeer flowing cat....
