you're not careful.
I tried to get my old car inspected before I sold it. Was completely honest with everyone, telling them the mileage and all the problems with it. My usual inspection station was closed, so I got stuck with Broadway Gas no Broadway St. in Cambridge, MA. (no clue, ehem ehem) These guys took a look at a 1/4th inch of rust on the wheel wells and told me that it would need replacing. They also took a look at the ripped CV boot and failed it on that, suggesting I "bring the car in for a complete tune-up," that they would "just replace the joint for 300 dollars to ensure no problems in the future."
Then the guy slapped a big R sticker on my car and told me to think it over.
I told the future buyer about all these problems, and also gave him the addresses of a few more "lenient" stations. He drove my MX-6 GT away and has been on happy highways since!
All in all, make sure you find a reputable shop who isn't going to try to gouge you.
both Urby and Abusot are right, though. Inspect it and you'll seem more genuine to the masses; or don't and sell it to the saabnet crowd who could probably inspect themselves it based on the sound the brake makes with the engine turned off!!!
Either way, it's old and high mileage. Nobody expects a prince for the price of a pauper.
good luck
