Saabs are not "always broken down"... Posted by turrbo [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: 1994 9000 CSE, JeffS, Fri, 10 Dec 2004 08:43:41 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Whoever is telling you this knows not of what he speaketh. Yes, parts are expensive but if you are mechanically inclined, even a little, you'll WANT to work on the car. Its a pretty easy car to work on.
352K miles is quite a lot. But if any car can take it, the Saab can. And if its had proper oil changes and routine maintenance, theres no reason why it shouldn't last a while.
When you buy a used Saab (or any used car for that matter) its good to know that in the first three months, there will most likely be some work needed. Don't let that scare you off, and if you buy it, don't let that turn you off on the car. Once you're over this little hump, the car should be quite reliable. The fact that its a non-turbo means that more than likely it hasn't been beaten to death.
If you buy a newer Chevy, Pontiac, etc., it will most likely be cheaper to maintain and with less work. But you'd be missing out very badly on the great safety, uniqueness, quality and fine capability of the 9000. If your apprehensive about this car, I'm sure that you could find one for a comparable price. Try and talk the seller down in price though. Good luck!
