To back up Zeke, it really sounds like the valve cover gasket. Very common for them to start leaking after a few years - I did the gasket on my '92 about 3-4 years ago when I was noticing a burning oil smell. The engine is canted forward, and that seam of the head to valve cover has oil against it - and it's right over the exhaust manifold. The stuff weeps out and onto the manifold.
Replacing the valve cover gasket is not a big deal - about an hour's work. The only trick is how long it takes to remove the old gasket material. And make sure you have a torque wrench that'll go down low enough - I think the torque for the valve cover gasket bolts are around 11 foot-pounds.
Want another way to check? Remove the DI cassette and look at the top of the plugs. If it's leaking outside, it's probably also leaking into the 'well' where the spark plugs are. If you see oil there, then you know the VC gasket is leaking.
