There's no reasonable way to keep the two fluids separate since they essentially share the same reservoir. All the dexterity in the world would be required, and still I think you'd drip some drips into the brake portion of the reservoir.
I doubt mixing them would matter, but I also doubt that expensive stuff in your clutch/brake lines really makes much difference to a car as old as this one. I'd go with cheap stuff myself.
