Hello there...
Rupert...
I think you do have to leave the pins connected while conducting the test, as opposed to momentarily touching them.
the original signal is sent using a frequency that pulls the disc closer to one side than the other...
it's a constant signal saying "open" or "closed"
if you momentarily touch the connection, the disc will move, but i'm pretty sure that it won't maintain it's open or closed position, because you basically just simlated a scenario with a break in the circuit from the computer to the BPC while driving the car... it would probably return to base boost... (the equivelant of unplugging the bpc and driving your car)
i touch the wires and leave them touched for the test.
Also, the center pin on the BPC is the pin that you give POSITIVE 12 volts to...
connect the positive terminal of your battery to this pin and leave it there for the test, while alternating which of the two OUTER pins are connected to the GOURND wire.
you were mismatching all sorts of pins...
forget what you were doing and conenct center pin to positive, and outer pins to negative... alternating
it's easiest to find a clip to hold onto the center pin, and then touch the negative by hand to the outer pins while blowing in the bpc...
hope this helps
