because that is the really bad part.
the other part about using a 2" pipe, the guy meant well and did a nice job and probably honestly believed there wouldn't be a measurable difference to your performance.
you could go back, if you don't like the way the car runs, and tell him that the car isn't running right and that you checked with some saab experts and they said the saab is a finicky car and won't run right with more back pressure, that it likes less back pressure (which is why you wanted to eliminate center muffler).
then say...
"since he only spent 20 minutes of the 2.5 hours labor I was charged, naturally I'm sure you'd be willing to cut out the 2" pipe and weld in a same size or large diameter so the car can run properly."
it sounds like they may have used the 2" pipe to make the joining easier, instead of putting sleeves on the outside of both pipes.
good luck, sounds like maybe you'll enjoy the more torque if it works in your favor!
