it can also plug things up. My indy and I were talking about this last month. He doesn't like it, having seen radiators and heater cores plugged up after using the stuff. Some of the passages coolant runs through are very small, and the stuff in Barrs can actually reduce flow. This can result from a "if some is good more is better" approach to using it. Better to flush your system regularly and keep an eye on the coolant level, fix leaks when they happen.
FWIW, though, I ran it in my '96 CSE for the first year I owned it and it probably kept a heater core leak from getting a lot worse, but I still had to do the core. I don't run it now, and there are no other leaks.
