All of the seat controller switches are interchangeable. That's the first good thing to know.
The -014 are listed for 94-95; the -275 switches are listed as 94-98. So somebody has probably already done some swapping around.
The only functional difference between the switches in any year is that in the newer switches (-275), the internal light bulb is replaceable. The bulb is in a quarter-turn carrier that you can access from the side of the switch (when removed from the dashboard). The older switches, going all the way back to '86, required diassembly of the switch and soldering/unsoldering of the bulb.
The circutry inside the switch is pretty much unchanged through all the years. It's still a little comparitor circuit driving a relay. The click can come from two places - first, there are little detents on the wheel you turn - some switches may click more than others - just individual variation. The other is the click of the relay when it closes. The controller works by comparing the temperature of the seat (via a sensor in the seat) with the setting on the controller. If the seat is colder, the relay closes (click) and sends 12 volts to the heater. Once the seat reaches temp, the relay opens (click), until the seat drops a few degress. So if the seat is up to temperature, you won't get a click from the relay when you turn the wheel. And some relays are louder than others. As to the weight difference? Don't know what to say - they're all pretty much the same - perhaps one had some lighter relays.
But they're interchangeable.
