I would say your Aero was probably a 'freak', if your boost gauge is anything to go by. You were boosting higher than an Aero will boost normally.
I got half into the red, and hit cutoff, with a tank of gas I bought in PA (93), but the normal boost on my '93 Aero is just to the end of the yellow lines/red border with Boston gas (93).to hit cutoff.
Not sure, but it sounds like your current setup would/should be better than a stock Aero up to about 60-80mph, then the TD04's higher flow would come into play.
My impression when driving my fathers '93CD (stock, MT, 200hp, T25) is that it's quicker to spool so you feel a little more zip in city driving, but that my Aero would destroy the CD on the highway.
Wonder what was up w/ your Aero, are you sure it was stock when you bought it?
