Sorry, dboone, I do not remember going over this with you before.

However, it would not surprise me if an Aero overtook you or I in the long haul because of two reasons: different turbos and transmissions.

The TD04 huffs out plenty more air than the T25, and continues to do so at the top end when the T25 is just about to give up the ghost. No software upgrade in the world can change that fact or help out the smaller T25. It's just physically not capable of out-lasting a TD04. Now, in the low-end, the T25 outshines the TD04 and can probably do so all the way through 3rd gear (in a stick). Coming up to 4th, and the TD04 will catch up, but then will pass the T25 in 5th. Hence, the second problem: tranny type.

The auto is severely limited by the fact that it only has 4 gears. I have approached 5500 rpm's in 4th ("D"rive) and wished there was one more gear to shift into since the engine wants to continue to push. Unfortunately, that isn't the case, and it would be at this point that I would be overtaken by a TD04. I have never taken my car to a track to see how it would fare against other speeders; my contests have only consisted of empty parkways using short stints where a 4-spd auto does not have a problem.

It is true that we have more hp (250 vs 225) and torque (380 vs 342) than a stock Aero stick, but looking at those numbers shows it is not a markedly more amount of power. Since we're not comparing using equal components (T25 vs TD04), it stands to reason that in the end, the Aero stick will be the winner.
