I had the same problem with the check-engine light. My mechanic told me that it sometimes works to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes. The computer resets itself and probably kills out the light. When errors occur in the data the ECU receives the check-engine light goes on, even when there are no serious problems. As long as your engine is running smoothly and the cool fluid and oil level are ok there is a good chance that the light will be out after the power-cut. I was about to cure my check-engine light last weekend when it died out just as unexpected as it came into life. When you do the power cut remedy be sure you have your keys outside the car. When the power comes back on the doors may be locked. Wear ear protection as there might be a chance that the alarm goes off. This last bit kept me from doing this reset trick a while ago; also then the light went out by itself.
The SRS light has to do with the airbag system. When a crash sensor is detached it lights up; mine did after disconnecting a sensor (I had to do this in order to disable the passenger airbag so that my daughter can ride in the Maxi Cosi in that seat). The sensors are located behind the front lights. At the right hand side there is a rubber flap covering it up, probably to prevent short circuiting when you spill during filling the window washer tank.
