Upon initial start of the day, engine stumbles and runs rough for about 20 seconds, then catches itself and smooths out (it's not an idling problem).
Removed all plugs to check gap (they're due for replacement with 12K miles on them), and could not budge #1. I had to use a persuasion bar on the ratchet handle to loosen it (odd since I never tighten them that much, it was not cross-threaded, and the other 3 came out easy). After removing that plug, I noticed it was wet. Not oily, but wet. I shined a light into the plug opening and could see the top of the piston was shiny-wet with a slight build-up of sludge. I looked into the other plug openings and those cylinders were dry and completely clean.
Engine runs strong (still pulls up to 18+ psi) and smooth. No smoke out of tailpipe (except for typical stuff in the winter). Am going through anti-freeze, but that's due to a leaking heater core. No oil in anti-freeze and no anti-freeze in oil.
Am I looking at a head gasket replacement? If so, are there write-up's somewhere for a late model, or is it the same for all years?
