I know what you guys are saying about the BMW v. Saab differences. I must say, though, that there still are enthusiasts driving BMW's...and they will be more than willing to shoot the breeze with you. I had an '89 325i(S) for a while and actually was involved with a number of good conversations about BMW's. (That was in small-town northern CA, and not in Atlanta, L.A., S.F. etc...)
I like talking to people who really know and appreciate what kind of car they drive, no matter what kind it is...and that seems to be a pretty high-percentage among Saab drivers. (A BMW 528/530, not so high... A 540 with the manual transmission or any of the M-series...you get pretty high percentages there.) Also, older cars (even like our 9000's) are driven intentionally...not many people drive 9000's by default!!)
I love the Saab love stories. Total strangers having a nice chat.
