my front brakes started grinding the other day, i was surprised because when i did the rear brakes last summer/fall, the front rotors and pads seemed fine, fine being a little wear on the rotor, and pads at maybe 1/2 life...
i checked last week and the rotors were really worn, and the pads looked little to none.
i went to replace rotors and pads today...
driver's side rotor couldn't get off because i stripped star screw, will finish drilling out tomorrow maybe, but the pads had worn completely thru, and the rivet in the center of the pad was scoring the rotor!
doesn't this seem odd after 17K miles. the last couple months i noticed they were leaving excessive dust daily, did they just reach a 3 year disintegration phase??
and the passenger side, while worn, wasn't as bad?? why the uneven?? do i have air maybe in the right line? the right caliper was replaced with the pads three years ago (prior owner got charged $93 for the pads not including labor!)
what's the deal with texstar pads??
