Hi Jem.
There were many things - but as someone else said - there is
a ratio of TCS cars that is good vs. lemon, and I had a lemon.
Worse still, it was pushed on me by a guy I knew that knew he
was going to rape me with this car - I was his consulting tech,
and his garage did all my Saab work at the time - and I hadn't
learned yet that this garage was into ripping folks off big time.
But learn I did, and even the guy I eventually passed this car
on to, with all the help he could get here could not figure out
the EFI problems in that car, and he got rid of it too - broken.
My '92 was great, and incredibly quick, no overt TCS problems,
but after the fear of lemons I got from the '93, I only got it
for the short time I needed a temporary car, and it was a blast
to drive - and the guy I sold it too still waves when we pass
each other on the road.
To sum up - given that even a '94 is over 10 years old, why
even bother to buy a '92 or '93 with all the possible chances
that they may or may not be lemons ?
One thing is certain - parts for those years are MY specific
for alot of the problematic bits - and in shorter supply as
each day passes - so why even mess with those odds ?
Best Wishes,
mark
