I am not buying one for the 9k. All told, I have removed the drive train of three of my 9k's no less than five times. I got it so I do it to change the clutch. I found it easier for me to mate the transmission to the engine on the floor with my bare hands.
I am thinking of getting one because I picked up a 95 525i 5 speed fixer upper at 107 k miles Sunday. Reading the Bentley, it says to remove the transmission first before removing the engine. This is unlike the 325 I did a few years ago. On the 325 the drive train comes out under the lift in the engine compartment.
