fuel consumption, EDU Posted by TML [Email] (#2212) [Profile/Gallery] (more from TML) on Tue, 22 Mar 2005 06:47:48 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Sorry to beat a dead horse here, but I still haven't figured this one out. Here's what I know so far: (this is on a 97 Aero)
1. actual fuel economy is 15% worse than the EDU shows (not an IMP MPG vs US MPG problem)
2. a Saab technical bulletin suggests the only way for that to happen is for some component in the fuel injection system to have changed.
3. fuel economy does seem worse than it should be, based on experience with previous Saabs and the same driving habits.
4. I've verified the FPR is stock. I can't tell on the injectors, they don't have a SAAB p/n on them.
Questions:
1. Can someone please tell me what the bosch p/n for the stock injectors is?
2. Assuming the injectors and FPR are stock, is there any way they could have "gone bad", and are delivering more fuel than the ECU or EDU thinks they are? (I have run fuel injector cleaner a few times over some months)
3. Any other things I can check that would lower fuel economy, and yet fuel the EDU? Looked for vacuum leaks, replaced fuel filter, evap purge valve.
