That's what happened to my '93 900T convertible a few months ago. I have 130K on that car. Had to have it towed 1 mile to my home ($75) since it wouldn't start, and now I will have to pay double for having the emissions tested beyond the due date.
Not a bad job to replace one (though, getting the plastic hold-down collar off was a PITA). Bought the new one from a site sponsor for $360.
