Hello TRJ...
first of all, NO, you're not going crazy! This is a totally random and weird issue to diagnose...
It first happened to me one COLD cold morning in upstate NY, driving to work at 55, when i trid to slow down for someone making a right turn, and all of a sudden, WHOOSH my car is like doing this weird "drifting" thing down the middle of the road!
i think the wheel that was actually stopping was making tire skid noises... and everyone behind me slowed way down cause they thought i was going to BIF...
Luckily i didn't, but it sure was a scare!
it had these sympotoms for the rest of the day, and then for a week it was fine...
every once in a while it would do the dive again...
but it seemed like there was more than one brake malfunctioning.
It was more like the front right brake wasn't stopping, coupled with the rear LEFT brake...
...indicative of that brake circuit being shot, or having air in it.
I had the brake lines and fluid flushed, and this fixed the problem... for a good month or so, then one day it cam back!
It is so random though, i can only assume there is a slow, slow brake fluid leak somewhere, and every once in a while a little air gets into the line... and causes this mess.
that's what i've settled on, but i don't know what to do about it, short of replacing ALL the lines?
mine dives to the right i think... the whole car wants to go diagonal if i don't hold the wheel for dear life! ;)
