Hi all let me say thank you for this web site it is great.
I have 1990 9000s 5-speed ( it's dead) 173000 miles i'm curious what happens if there is 1 and 1/2 in. of dot-4 fluid above the max mark. I bleed the brakes and clutch and then 15 miles later the trans locked up and the car came to a screeching halt when going 15 miles an hour. It sounded and felt like some thing in the shifting mechanism was clinking in first and second gear. The tranny has been making some bearing noise for a few months and I thought that would get louder and give me some warning( i quess i was wrong or are they unrelated) Back to the fluid, could the brakes have locked-up and the tranny suffered. The shifter is totally ripped out of it's home. Any opinions or dialog would be helpful, This saab maybe dead without your help. Thank You david
