Hi guys, haven't been on for a while...
(1995 9000 2.3 CSE turbo 120K miles)
Car always handles well, even at high speeds 130MPH (obviously on german autobahn as that would be wrong in UK)
Had both front tyres changed to "part worn" tyres (yeah I know, but no money!)
Since then I notice when travelling slowly 15/20mph, if I turn the steering wheel, I notice the steering wheel feels..humpy?, ie sort of notchy when turning the wheel side to side but not as hard.
Please note, however, that if stationary and turning, it feels smooth and fine, so clearly tyre issue somewhere. I've also noticed that above 110mph a violent vibration from the steering wheel more like badly balanced wheels which gets worse the faster you go, yet since tyres were changed, I have had wheels balanced by reputable company and tracking checked.
I know the tyres have been repaired with those rat-tail looking things, so I'm wondering if they haven't been trimmed properly, or could any other fault with the tyres cause this?
