I imagine your not spending much on this car , but seems you expect a lot. The car is 19 years old and is of 80's technology . Don't base your ideas of a front wheel drive , solid rear axle on other cars you have driven. The 9000 turbos are great cars and are very dependable when coupled with proper maintainence. They handle nicely have plenty of pep and are safe and practical. Drive the car , I think you will like it. The 9k's had a long run
and improvements were made along the way. 86 was the first year in the US for this model. Parts are easy to find , both new and used. My two old 9K's require attention , but I love driving them. Check the 9000 board and FAQ'S for advice on the cars. Judge the cars after driving a well maintained
example. True they are not VW's. bj
