indicator is high. You may find out (as I did) that your radiator matrix is contricted with deposits if your radiator is original. I had a situation that my car would run hot in the summer only...and only during the day. I tried everything (flush and fill, low temp thermostat, redline water-wetter, blah blah blah). The thing that finally changed the problem was a radiator.
I had the car down for replacement of the exhaust down pipe and took the radiator to a shop for examination. They set it on its side and filled it with water, put it in a stand with a measuring tape on the floor in front of it...when they uncorked the radiator they measured how far the water shot out onto the floor. They compared this with the distance that a brand new radiator shot it's load and there was no comparison. The new radiator drained nearly twice as far when they released it. I put the new one in and have not a had an overheat condition under any climate conditions in the last 4 years. Here in Michigan it doesn't get as hot, but it will get up to 110 with 90% humidity....much more difficult to cool your water in high humidity conditions.
We determined the original owner refilled the radiator with hard tap water or used Bars Stop-Leak at some point and plugged the radiator up.
my $.02
Also, hot cyl temp could be from running with too lean of a fuel mixture.
Cheers
