Clutch pedal travel reduces as car warms up

1995 9000 CSE (2.0 LPT)...When car is cold clutch pedal has some free play and nice resistance to foot. When car is warm pedal firms up and free travel reduces. On one very hot day in traffic pedal was rock hard and clutch began to slip. OK when allowed to cool down.
SAAB dealer recommends replacing all clutch components. Local mechanic (not SAAB) has never encountered symptoms like these.
Appears to me as if hydraulic fluid is expanding with heat and causing pressure to build which takes path of least resistance and pushes back through master cylinder into clutch pedal..when no further travel available in that path it causes clutch to be activated. This probably can't happen but it isd the best way that I can describe the symptom and effect).
Any thoughts. Previous postings have addressed lack of pressure in pedal but not increased presssure as far as I can see.
