The little spring loaded fuel return valve innards seems to be of minor importance. I can't really tell why Saab wanted to stop the fuel from being able to wander up back into the return line, neither do I know how that would be possible since you have a constant flow of fuel coming out that valve and into the tank when engine is running.
As long as the valve you install have noting in the end you will be good.
Many people have installed the fuel pressure check valve in the return line but forgot to gut the innards out of the valve creating an effective blockage for the return fuel.
I ordered those two parts at one time but couldn't get them to fit into the valve housing and didn't see a reason why they should be needed so I dropped the issue and installed without them.
If you buy the valve from Saab they never come with o-rings and you need to buy those seperate.
