Hello everyone,

This morning our stalwart 1992 non-turbo 9000S drove my Dad all the way to work and quit just as he was pulling into a parking spot. He reports that it was running very well and gave no signs of trouble.

Swapping DI cassettes around (the cassettes were then tried on another car just to verify their operating status) got no progress, and the car seems to defy the CPS (Crank Position Sensor) indications in that it doesn't want to start even after sitting and cooling down for several hours.

The tach sort of nudges when cranking, not really a bounce but not motionless. This tach test is not reliable in any case in my view since none of the other three cars equipped with the identical setup bounce during cranking either.

Tried bonking on the fuel tank to see if the pump was the problem, but so far nothing has gotten the car to start.

Anyone got sage advice? I do plan on checking the plug gap tomorrow since I've had excessive gap keep a car from running in the past, but that circumstance was preceeded by plenty of warning in the form of intermittent crappy running. No such preamble in this case.
