I tow a 650 lb Harley on a open trailer for a total of 1100 lbs. I towed it 700 miles last year, from North Carolina to Massachusettes. Tongue weight was about 100 lbs. The only issue is that my rear suspension sank very low. In spite of this, I did not have any rubbing issues and I did not bottom out ever. I am going to tow my bike again next month from Mass to Baltimore. For this trip, I am installing some inflateable devices on the inside of my rear springs to prevent the rear suspension from compressing so much. My only advise is drive the speed limit and avoid working your car too hard. Saab 9000s can tow. I have mader many trips to Germany and I observed that they have very few trucks or SUVs there. Everyone tows trailers with BMWs, Mercedes, Saabs, Volvos, VWs, Opels, etc.
